The City of Santa Monica’s Pier Bridge is a 17-span reinforced concrete bridge, that connects Ocean Avenue with the Santa Monica Pier. The Bridge was originally constructed in 1939, and due to age, it has been determined that the bridge needs to be replaced. Prior to beginning the project, a mandatory Bridge Type Selection Report (BTSR) was required to be prepared and approved by Caltrans. As a subconsultant to the design engineering firm, GUIDA provided land surveying and mapping services in support of the preparation of the BTSR for Caltrans and the subsequent PS&E phase of this project.
GUIDA’s services on this project included, but were not limited to, providing horizontal and vertical control surveys, topographic design surveys, record land net surveys and mapping, and utility coordination and design services.
