Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), Purple (D-Line) Extension Transit Project – Section 3 (Design-Build)

As a subconsultant, GUIDA is providing land surveying and mapping services for section 3 of the Purple (D-Line) Extension Transit project. Metro’s project has three sections and is focused on improving commuter transportation by expanding Metro’s rail system to the Westside with the project area. This new addition will add seven new stations and a reliable, high-speed connection between downtown Los Angeles and the Westside. Section 3 of the extension project will add the new Westwood/UCLA and Westwood/VA Hospital stations to the Purple Line.

GUIDA was tasked with performing control surveys verifying the existing “issued” project control, as well as providing additional horizontal and vertical control for each section of the dual tunnel system. GUIDA will provide as-built data along with office support to the client, including field traverse adjustments notes and field book data.
